While Devonhurst Place is situated idyllically opposite the beautiful Turnham Green and moments from Chiswick Park, it is also within easy reach of a vast array of West London’s wonderful green spaces which fall on its doorstep.
Kew Gardens, in the neighbouring London Borough of Richmond, is home to the internationally renowned Victorian Royal Botanic Gardens and boasts some stunning walks. Elizabeth Gate is the closest access point to Kew Gardens from Devonhurst Place and is roughly 9 minutes away by bike or a 30 minute walk (~1.6 miles).
Also in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Richmond Park is the largest enclosed open space within London, making it the biggest of the Royal Parks. Sheen Gate is the closest access gate to Richmond Park from Devonhurst Place which can be reached in just over 20 minutes by bike (~3.7 miles).
One of the most local open spaces to Devonhurst Place is Chiswick House & Gardens. While the 18th century house is impressive the real draw is the 65 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens which are award winning. The gatehouse to the gardens can be reached on foot in just 10 minutes (~0.5 miles) from Devonhurst Place.
Another extremely local option is Gunnersbury Park. Situated on the site of a former estate, this 70- hectare park has been open to the public since 1926. The park is full of historic buildings of national significance and complete with two lakes. Access to the park is free and via Popes Lane which can be reached in under half an hour on foot (~1.4 miles) or in just 7 minutes by bike.
A little further west from Gunnersbury Park is the hidden gem Boston Manor Park. These gardens are beautifully kept and offer not only greenery but also a pond teeming with wildlife. Boston Manor Park can be reached by bike in just 14 minutes from Devonhurst Place (~2.6 miles) or in 50 minutes on foot.
Ravenscourt Park is another excellent option that is just over a mile from Devonhurst Place so a 22 minute walk or 7 minute cycle. Located in the neighbouring borough of Hammersmith and Fulham it is less of a traditional park and more of a secret garden, a lovely green space with its own walled area and pretty lake known for its wildlife habitats.
Osterley House & Park are also a superb spot that can be reached in under 25 minutes by bike (~4.5 miles) from Devonhurst Place and has links to the National Trust cycle network. A Georgian country estate in West London and run by the National Trust.
